Crown Royal Cake

Crown Royal Cake - chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling and frosting. Crown Royal has been my dad's drink of choice for as long as I can remember. This cake version is completely edible, right down to the label. Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Papa!

My daughter's cake for her papa, she cut out each letter and star all by herself! She says we're going to own a bakery together someday...when she's not busy being a teacher and doctor!

Pink & Orange 30th Birthday Party

For my baby sister's 30th birthday party I decided to create a pink and orange dessert table and candy bar.  The dessert bar included many of her favorites: vanilla sprinkle cake pops, chocolate cupcakes with an Oreo baked inside and Oreo buttercream, chocolate covered Oreos and chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter buttercream with mini chocolate chips.  I loved how the pink and orange looked and the birthday girl was surprised!  Happy Birthday to the best little sister and friend I could ever ask for!

Michigan State & Back to the Future Cake

This cake was definitely the most interesting request I've had yet.  It had to combine a love for Michigan State with a love of the movie Back to the Future.  I designed a Spartan out of green fondant for the top of the cake, made the letters to look like the letters from the movie, and used the recipient's birthdate and time to make the "Destination Time" from inside the DeLorean.  The cake was Birthday Cake with buttercream filling and frosting.  Happy Birthday Paul!

Gone Fishing Cake

This cake was yellow cake with buttercream filling and frosting and fondant decorations.  Happy Birthday Mr. Staley!

Lilly Pulitzer inspired cake

This 30th birthday cake was inspired by the fun prints of Lilly Pulitzer.  It is Birthday Cake (yellow cake with sprinkles) with buttercream frosting.  Unfortunately, I only took one picture on my phone when I finished the cake and forgot to take pictures with my real camera.  Oh well...Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!

Teapot Cake

This teapot cake was for my grandmother's 80th birthday.  She requested that the number 80 not show up on her cake, so instead I went with two things she loves: tea and purple.  The cake was yellow cake with buttercream filling.  Her reaction to the cake was priceless, and days later she was still talking about how she thought it was a real teapot.  Happy Birthday to one of the most upbeat, kind and amazing people I know, my Grandma!

Aged to Perfection...Take Two!

This was a request for a cake that I had made before.  The wine bottles around the outside of the cake are to represent the birthday girl's birth year.  It was a chocolate cake with buttercream filling.

Happy 80th Birthday Nana!

This cake was for my Nana's 80th birthday.  She has always loved the color blue and was very proud to be turning 80.  So I went with a lot of blue and a big blue number "80".  The bottom tier was lemon cake with buttercream filling and the top tier was marble cake with buttercream filling.  Happy Birthday Nana Jean, we love you!

Reese's Cake

This cake was for my husband's birthday.  His favorite candies are Reese's pieces and Reese's peanut buttercups.  This cake was the perfect way to get my kids involved in making their Dada's cake (they're only allowed to help with family members' cakes).  They sorted the pieces by color, and my 4.5 year old daughter arranged the pieces and peanut buttercups on the cake.  It's a chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream filling and chocolate buttercream icing.  They were so proud of the cake, and he loved it.  Happy Birthday to the best husband and father!

50th Birthday

My aunt told me about a year ago that she would like a hydrangea cake for her 50th birthday.  She loves my lemon cake, so she got a lemon cake with green and white hydrangeas.  I made chocolate cupcakes for the non-lemon lovers.  Happy 50th Auntie Donna!
